We have been catching, observing, feeding, and releasing toads for more than ten years. The texture of their skin is so interesting for children to handle! We have done science experiments with whether they prefer moving or still food; whether they prefer grasshoppers or crickets; whether they prefer grassy or dirt areas, whether they really cause warts... all kinds of scientific questions!

We tend to keep them about a week, then release them back to the wild as thanks for helping us in our pursuit of science. All they need is water, crickets (or other moving bugs), and very little else. Recommended as a way to involve kids with the outdoors.
