I got this toad from a friend who rescued him. She might as well have not bothered since he only lasted a couple of months. I did my best with him, following her instructions and reading what I could find at the time, but he stopped eating fairly soon after I took him in, and died within the month.

I know people who have raised amphibians successfully, and I know the kind of work they put into them. These are not creatures for casual pet owners. If you're going to make the commitment, then consider them. But if it's all too much work, then do them and yourself a favor and skip it.
