These are super fun to own. If you're owning them as tadpoles, as with any tadpole it's important make sure your filter is tadpole safe. Additionally, they are usually fine in that tank with other fish however, always make sure you have 'land' in your tank as some tadpoles will mature faster than others. Fish food and algae are fine and if they're collected from the wild, acclimate them for a few days by using 50% marsh water and 50% of your tank water.
As adults they are not as active unless provoked. They are not high maintenance and I find they also prefer crickets over any thing else. In addition, try to avoid handling them too much.
