American green tree frogs are both adorable and easily maintained. If you are looking for a tiny little pet who is something quite new and interesting to observe an american green tree frog may be for you. All this little guy needs is a decent sized tank (around 10 gallons) with the ground covered in smooth gravel or mulch. To treat your hippity-hoppity friend add moss on top of your mulch. Aside from that all they ask are some branches or toys to hop around on. It is important to provide them with a decent habitat. When considering an American Green Tree Frog as a pet please consider the declining rate of naturally occurring frogs and make sure that you are prepared to give your frog a good life before you contribute to the market that takes them from their natural lands to breed them for stores.
These little guys are not exactly cuddly but they can be occasionally handled with extra care in a room with few places for them to hide or become lost or injured. Frogs can be fun and entertaining pets to own who live their captive lives best in a well provided tank, the larger the better. It is important to clean the habitat often and provide them with plenty of obstacles to climb and a fair amount of crunchy crickets.
