Summers in America were a joy when I was small, and catching frogs in our swampy back yard was a highlight. We were always gentle with our new friends, placing them in a dishpan full of clean water, watching them hop and splash about. One night, we found a wee little frog, brown-green and no bigger than a a child's building block. I fell for him instantly, and endeavoured to keep this little guy well-fed with celery tops and any flies we could catch. As he grew, we changed the water most days and sadly let him back into the wild after four weeks, realising he needed to be with his 'family.'
Easy to care for, but definitely not a house pet or cuddly!
