African Drawf Clawed Frog - Hymenochirus boettgeri

The African Drawf Clawed Frog is a very small (3.5cm) frog that is completely aquatic. They do very well in community fish tanks as long as they are kept with other species of fish that are not too terretorial or aggresive towards the frogs. They do very well in groups of 3 to 5 specimens. You should provide them with a few hiding places like large pieces of drift wood and rocks to hide under. They do well on a diet of bloodworms, small crickets, pre killed mealworms (by freezing them for a couple days before feeding and then warming them up in lukewarm water), and fish flakes, They need logs and platforms to be able to sit in the water and reach the surface with ease as they are amphibians and respire by breathing in air from the surface just like we do. Highly recommended for something difference for your community tank. Such a cute little frog.
