A few years back I had these two adorable frogs. African dwarf frogs swim around in a tank, and come up for air once in awhile. They eat frog food or little worms--easy to order online. They don't require any complex systems for their aquariums, though cleaning out any aquarium is always a bit of work. A filter helps though, but you have to make sure the filter is very small so it doesn't suck in the frogs and hurt them!

Overall they were great pets. Low maintenance, enjoyable to watch, and easy to bond with, even without getting to hold them. They're a great pet if you are somewhere between a fish person and a mammal or lizard person. They're as complex to watch as the latter while as easy to care for as the former.
