When I first heard about this kind of frog, it was at PetCo while I was looking at fish with my younger brother. I had always wanted a frog but was wary of the amount of work and costly supplies required. The African Dwarf Frog was the perfect combination of a cool, fun pet with very little effort! I had two frogs because they like to live in pairs: Eugene and Rupert. We took care of these two little guys just like we would beta fish- we fed them blood worms and they lived in a fish bowl. These little guys stay underwater but CAN escape- so be careful! We nearly lost Rupert when he hopped down the garbage disposal while I cleaned the bowl! All in all, these are great, low-maintenence and affordable pets, especially for kids! The only sad thing is our little guys didn't have a very long lifespan. Eugene died about a year after we got him and Rupert followed just a few months later. :(
