Our children each received 2 African Dwarf Frogs, with aquariums, for Christmas. We were assured at the store we bought them that these were easy pets to look after, and they sure are!

They don't come out of the water, but they can be very active from time to time and are very amusing to watch. These are also the lowest-maintenance pets we have ever had.

Aquariums only need changing once every couple of months, and if you travel, they only need feeding 2x per week.

The disadvantage is that they can't come out to 'play', but as far as easy to look after pets go, these get top marks!
