These are great frogs for new aquatic frog owners more so than dwarf as they eat much better and seem to be more hardy. I do not recomend them for kids simply because they cannot be held or played with and kids i am sure would rather have a frog like a whites tree frog they can hold and interact with. They need basic care. Keep their water clean, feed them well, do not need light, Some heat (22-25 degrees C), eat very well and have great personallities. They prefer to be kept in pairs or groups rather than alone. A 20 gallon tank with two in is a great start set up. They can be fed on many foods, i find reptomin good as they are high in calcium for growing bones. I use worms eg blood worms, tubifex and meal worms for protein. Great little characters. Filters and air pumps are ok to use, many sources say not to but i have had no problem with them. My frogs are not bothered in the least. Great frogs.
